Adventure Landing in Winston-Salem, North Carolina is located at 1600 South Stratford Road near Hanes Mall. Yes, this is the place with mini golf that has the giraffe, elephant, waterfall, and cave. Summer months often challenge the adults to find fun family-friendly activities that the kids will enjoy. When my family visited Adventure Landing, they definitely enjoyed the bumper boats!

Bumper boats are a fun way to cool off on a hot day. They are also a good, safe way to take out your frustrations on your loved ones. Not that children would ever get on your last nerve or anything. If you need to turn the activity into something educational, well, you could always say the kids are learning driving skills and discovering properties of water.

Riding the bumper boats was so much fun. After getting in, you can quickly learn how to drive the boats and off you go! They are armed with water guns...yes, you might get pretty wet on this, depending on the aim of others riding the boats and whether and how well you can dodge and duck. Actually one of the staff members got doused as I was getting in my boat when I accidentally hit the trigger. Kudos to her because she just laughed and was very nice in responding to my goof. She even took several of these great pictures!

This would be a particularly good activity when temperatures are warmer, and you might want to either do a round of miniature golf or play arcade games inside while you dry off after riding the boats. One of my kids usually hates to get wet, but she wanted to try riding and actually enjoyed herself. All of us did!
